Scraps of Paper - preparing for the constitutional review.

Last night I made it along to the Maxim Institute's public lecture on preparing for the Constitutional Review, given by Dr Richard Ekins. Maxim is a conservative think tank and hardly a hive of radical republicanism by any measure, yet their work on public policy issues, especially that of Dr Ekins, is of a high standard. While I often find myself disagreeing with their positions (I do agree on some, but that's another story), it is good that we have as many public policy think tanks taking on these issues. We're all the richer for it. And of course as chair of Republican Movement it's always good to attend events such as these to talk to other New Zealanders interested in the same topics.
