Jamaica: Speech from the non-existent throne
The Jamaica Observer reports a resolution is to be put before the Jamaican parliament to rename the "Speech from the Throne" to the "People's Speech". The move is said to be:
"...a timely and lasting acknowledgement that the priorities, project, policies and programmes contained therein are designed in good faith by the government elected by the very people of Jamaica and is intended to honour and give thorough meaning to the primary responsibility of all governments"
Fair enough. After all, the actual Throne being referred to is not in Jamaica. Nor is it in New Zealand or Australia. It's in London.

Where is the NZ THRONE?
There is no "NZ throne" as such, it's a legal term.
