New Zealander of the year

New Zealand Post will announce the second winner of the "New Zealander of the Year" award in February next year. Interestingly, that's when the next Governor-General is  to be announced. Here's the list:

• Catriona Williams of Masterton,
  
• Dr Kirsten Finucane of Central Auckland,
  
• Henare O’Keefe of Hastings,
  
• Judy Collins of Tauranga,
  
• Mark Inglis of
  Canterbury,
  
• Peri Drysdale of Canterbury,
  
• Professor Sir Paul Callaghan of Wellington,
  
• Shirley Hazlewood of Kaponga in Taranaki,
  
• Stephen Boxer of Manukau and
  
• Tony Falkenstein of Central Auckland.

Any one of the above would make a great Governor-General, or better still Head of State...
