Submission on the restoration of Queen's Counsel

The Republican Movement's submission to the Justice and Electoral Select Committee was written in consultation with our members of the legal fraternity. As you'd expect, we oppose the dumping of the title "Senior Counsel" and restoration of King/Queen's Counsel.

It's embarrassing we're even having this debate. Nonetheless, the government has decided its got plenty of time for something most lawyers seem to think is trivial. The only justification for the move backwards appears to be that no-one understands the significance of Senior Counsel. Ignorance is hardly a good justification though.
