UMR poll: 24% support republic, 58% oppose, rest undecided

UMR has released a poll showing a significant drop in support for a New Zealand republic following Friday's Royal Wedding. No surprises there - the question asked was much more direct than ours. Here's the questions UMR asked:

Using a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 means very closely and 5 means not closely at all, please tell me how closely you are following or have followed these news stories in the last month. If you do not know enough about it just say so: "The royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton"

Do you support or oppose New Zealand becoming a republic?

Regardless of your views on whether New Zealand should become a republic, do you think New Zealand will become a republic within the next twenty years?

Do you generally approve or disapprove of the British royal family?

The approval rating for the Royals seems hardly relevant.
