United Future's conference: head of state referendum confirmed

TVNZ reports this weekend's annual conference for United Future has re-affirmed the party's commitment to holding a referendum on the republic issue:

"...the party seeks serious debate on the shape of the country's governance, and the Treaty of Waitangi.

Dunne wants a referendum to be held in 2010 on MMP and the future of the Maori seats, and a further referendum in 2012 on who the country's head of state should be."
