What the Queen is getting for Christmas

The British Monarchy are political celebrities and their  PR people are making sure everyone knows what they are doing for Christmas this year.  There is still a recession on so they have played up how homely and down to earth they all are. "It's been decided that the group will give each other low-key but fun gifts this year, in part due to the on-going global financial crisis."


Surrounding the Monarchy are a coterie of journalists and royal correspondents who happily churn out the PR on their behalf. Majesty magazine (a reliable outlet for all royal PR) has published an article about the simple gifts the royals will be giving each other this year. The article has been published on the Stuff news site in the entertainment and celebrity news section. Harry is getting some gucci loafers. The Queen another picture of herself with her corgis. This drivel would be laughable if it weren't for the fact that millions of people around the world are being encouraged to forget the power and privilege the royal  family enjoy.  Instead they'll be thankful and feel a bit special that they are allowed to know what is going on at the palace. To have this glimpse into the lives of the rich and famous. A few scraps of information for the commoners to enjoy  at Christmas time.
