Who's celebrating Queen's birthday?

Queen's birthday is coming up soon, on Monday the 6th June. Like many holidays on the New Zealand public holiday calendar, it's just another day off for most. Queen's birthday is a welcome public holiday at this time of the year, although it often is too early for the start of the ski season. Do people actually celebrate the day?

The only thing close to official celebration is another 21-gun salute and an event at Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand. This appears to be a one-hour Brit-kitschfest where prizes will be given for the best dressed princess. Two events, for a whole public holiday.
