This book, by the former Australian Republican Movement Chairperson, goes over the history of republicanism in Australia but mainly focuses on what needs to be done to create a republic. It reviews the main options, explains his choices and sets out a framework for moving to a republic. While some of the details differ for New Zealand, much of the analysis could equally be applied here. In the absence of a similar book for New Zealand read this one, as it is a good mix of technical and practical detail written for a broad audience.
