The Queen's message has made it to the Reader's Digest What's Hot and Not Christmas survey . 20% said it was hot! 47% said not. Last on the list for what is hot. First on the list for what is not. This is not necessarily any indication of support for a republic of course as the Queen's Christmas message is notoriously dull and repetitive (our brave men and women serving overseas, our duty of service, this time of giving etc etc). As a Christmas tradition its looking increasingly like fake snow on the window so even people who support the Monarchy can see its getting a bit tired.
Interesting. The Guardian's letter from New Zealand notes that no-one really cares about the Queen's message.
